Students Practicing "Staying Low"
We have experienced an increase of Covid-19 cases over the last several days. As of Tuesday, October 5, 2021, we have 8 total students and staff at home with Covid-19. The cases are concentrated in the elementary building and appear to generally be through community spread. We ask that you continue to monitor your child for symptoms common to Covid-19. Fever seems to be the first and most reliable early indicator of Covid-19. If your child is running a temperature, please keep them at home. We will also continue to check temperatures at the door in the morning. In addition, the cleaning protocols and personal hygiene will continue to be a point of emphasis. Masks are recommended at this point, but are not mandatory. Thank you and please be well

The third graders had the opportunity to learn more about raising chickens and gathering eggs. Did you know a chicken will eat almost anything? Even a chicken nugget! 😳 Thank you, Brittany Panowicz, for the great tour and Nurse Lori for making the arrangements. Lindsay Gappa

The Environmental Science class used seine nets to collect aquatic organisms. A seine net is often used to collect small fish, that are then relocated into a larger lake. Thank you Brandon for teaching us how to use the seine net!

This past Monday and Tuesday, a group of students from LCHS and Mrs. Asche worked with students from Kearney Public and Overton to receive a powerful training experience from the Institute for Holocaust Education in Omaha with support from the Anne Frank Center for Mutual Respect. Now that our students have had this preparation, we will get to host and share the exhibit “Anne Frank: A History for Today” with LCPS students, parents, community members, and interested surrounding schools for two weeks in November! Stay tuned for more details about this upcoming historical opportunity to come in the following weeks.
