This past Monday and Tuesday, a group of students from LCHS and Mrs. Asche worked with students from Kearney Public and Overton to receive a powerful training experience from the Institute for Holocaust Education in Omaha with support from the Anne Frank Center for Mutual Respect. Now that our students have had this preparation, we will get to host and share the exhibit “Anne Frank: A History for Today” with LCPS students, parents, community members, and interested surrounding schools for two weeks in November! Stay tuned for more details about this upcoming historical opportunity to come in the following weeks.

As we carefully monitor the Covid-19 virus in our school and community, we have seen a decrease in active cases in school. This week we had one new case in the elementary. All students previously out, except one, have returned.
We are aware that the spread in the community is continuing. For this reason, we recommend students wear a mask, but they will not be required starting on September 13, 2021. We will continue our other protocols and ask that if your child does not feel well, please keep them home and seek medical attention if necessary. We will reevaluate our mask procedures on Wednesday, September 15. Students are not in school on September 16 and 17.
Please stay safe and help us keep all kids in school and healthy.
