September 10, 2020

Parents of Loup City Students:

We are happy to announce the USDA Summer Food Serviced Program has been given an extension due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.  All enrolled and attending students of Loup City Public Schools will be eligible to receive meals irregardless of their economic status.  This program is authorized from September 1, 2020 until the program no longer is funded which we believe will be on or about December 31, 2020.  Meals will include both our grab and go breakfast program and our lunch program.

If your child has been charged for a meal during the September 1 to September 10 time period we will be crediting their lunch accounts.  This program became effective on September 1, 2020 so all lunches served from August 13 to August 31 will remain a charge on your child’s account.  We will not be issuing cash back but rather crediting accounts to be used when our regular food service program resumes in January of 2021. This crediting process will take some time and we plan to have it completed by the end of September, we ask that you be patient as we undertake this process.  If you have questions about credit to accounts after September 30th please feel free to contact Mrs Placzek at 308-745-0603.

We hope that this program will provide our students and families with some economic relief in the fall semester and are pleased to be a part of this program with the USDA.

Respectfully

Angela Simpson

Superintendent
