“Finding the Groove”

Principal’s Message to Parents & Guardians

April 24th, 2026

LCES Families,

As we move through the final weeks of the school year, our students are wrapping up grade-level content and reflecting on the learning they’ve accomplished this year. While many of our larger assessments are behind us, teaching and learning remain in full swing each day.

During this time, our teachers are intentionally identifying key skills where students would benefit from additional practice and reinforcement before transitioning to the next grade level. These focus areas are being reviewed in a variety of ways—through small group instruction, hands-on activities, and different approaches to help make learning more accessible and meaningful for every student.

This work is an important part of “Finding the Groove,” as students strengthen their understanding and build confidence in the skills they will carry forward. It also reflects our commitment to “Empowering Continual Success,” ensuring each student is as prepared as possible for what comes next.

We encourage families to continue supporting strong routines at home—especially with attendance, effort, and a positive mindset—as these final weeks play a meaningful role in your child’s overall growth this year!

Thank you for your continued involvement and support. Together, we are making Loup City Elementary a place where students thrive, grow, and succeed every day! If you ever need to contact me, don’t hesitate to do so at paul.barker@lcpublic.org or through the main office at 308-745-0603.

Warm regards,

Mr. Paul Barker, M.Ed
