“Finding the Groove”

Principal’s Message to Parents & Guardians

April 2nd, 2026

LCES Families,

As we head into the Easter weekend, we want to take a moment to wish all of our students, families, and staff a joyful and restful break.

In the rhythm of a busy school year, breaks like this are an important part of Finding the Groove. Just like music needs pauses to make the melody meaningful, our students need time to recharge. We encourage families to slow things down this weekend—sleep in a bit, enjoy unstructured time, and allow your children to reset both physically and mentally. These moments of rest play a vital role in Empowering Continual Success when we return to school.

Easter weekend offers a great opportunity to reconnect with family and friends. Whether you're gathering for a meal, attending services, or simply spending quality time together, these shared experiences help strengthen the relationships that support our students every day. When students feel connected and supported at home, they are better prepared to find their groove at school.

As you enjoy the holiday, we also want to emphasize safety. Whether you're traveling, participating in outdoor activities, or enjoying community events, please take time to talk with your children about making safe choices. A safe and smooth weekend ensures everyone returns ready to learn, grow, and continue building momentum..

Thank you for your continued involvement and support. Together, we are making Loup City Elementary a place where students thrive, grow, and succeed every day! If you ever need to contact me, don’t hesitate to do so at paul.barker@lcpublic.org or through the main office at 308-745-0603.

Warm regards,

Mr. Paul Barker, M.Ed
