“Finding the Groove”
Principal’s Message to Parents & Guardians
February 13th, 2026
Dear LCES Families,
I want to extend sincere gratitude to all the parents and guardians who joined us on Thursday, February 12th to celebrate Valentine’s Day in our classrooms at Loup City Elementary School.
Your presence made a tremendous difference. Seeing families engaged in activities, celebrating alongside students, and sharing in those small but meaningful classroom moments truly helps our school community find its rhythm. When home and school move together in sync, our students feel supported, valued, and confident. That harmony is exactly what Finding the Groove is all about.
Please know this: we love having you here. We want to encourage this kind of involvement even more. Your participation empowers not only your own child, but our entire school community. It reflects our district’s commitment to “Empowering Continual Success” by building strong partnerships that extend beyond academics and into relationships, belonging, and shared purpose.
Another opportunity to find our groove together is right around the corner. During the first week of March, we will celebrate Read Across America Day (March 2nd) and continue the celebration throughout the week. While Read Across America is officially recognized on March 2nd, we believe the joy of reading can happen anytime—and we welcome volunteers throughout the week to read to classrooms, share a favorite story, or simply spend time promoting a love of literacy.
Reading is one of the most powerful ways we empower continual success. When students see adults modeling enthusiasm for books, they begin to internalize the rhythm of curiosity, imagination, and lifelong learning. That is the groove we want every child to find.
We will share more details soon about how you can participate. In the meantime, please know how deeply we appreciate your continued support and involvement. Together, we are building something special—one celebration, one book, and one partnership at a time.
Thank you for your continued involvement and support. Together, we are making Loup City Elementary a place where students thrive, grow, and succeed every day! If you ever need to contact me, don’t hesitate to do so at paul.barker@lcpublic.org or through the main office at 308-745-0603
Warm regards,
Mr. Paul Barker, M.Ed
