In the last year Loup City has been contacted and has been a subject of a news story about our choice of logos. Loup City Public Schools is known as the Red Raiders and has historically, although not recently, used a Native-American caricature as the mascot logo. The board of education has discussed the use of the cartoon-like Native American caricature during an open session and is asking the public to share their input with them. They ask that you please use the link below to answer a few questions that will be helpful to the board of education in making a decision.
https://nasb.sjc1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_8wiDBq4uHRiddVr
The link to this survey will also be made available to the community members without children in the district through social media.
Your input is appreciated.

Good Afternoon!
As we have had our first cases of Covid-19 in our school we want to take the opportunity to share our current risk dial for the Loup Basin area. The Loup City Public Schools is operating in the Yellow Operational Zone due to our district having a mandatory mask policy we are not having to quarantine students.
We currently have two LCES teachers who have positive results, we do no have any students. Due to masks being used at school, there were no students identified to quarantine. Family members and close contact individuals have been directed to quarantine per the Loup Basin guidelines. All students that are currently quarantining from both buildings are due to exposure outside of the school setting. We will monitor the situation with the Loup Basin Health Department.
We appreciate our partners in education and their support.

The Amherst Junior Class will be selling the following items in the concession stand at the football game Thursday evening.
Hamburgers and hot dogs from Stockmen’s Bar & Grill in Amherst!

The volleyball triangular scheduled for tonight has been changed to a dual between Twin Loup and Arcadia-Loup City. The JV game will start at 5:30 with Varsity to follow. It will be broadcast on KBBN radio and Twin Loup STRIV channel.
With one less team than originally scheduled we are not going to be setting a limit on the number of fans per player, but feel it is important to remind everyone that Sargent School status is still in the “orange” zone of the risk dial. The protocol for activities is that: home fans should come in through the north entrance and visitors will enter through the east entrance near the flagpole. Also, we remind fans to social distance your group from others in the stands and wearing an appropriate face-covering / mask is required if you are attending tonight’s volleyball game.

https://www.loupcitypublicschools.org/o/loup-city-public-schools/page/covid-19-related-announcements

Good Evening
Loup City Public Schools is planning to continue to stay open until we are informed by the Loup Basin Public Health Department or the State of Nebraska that we will need to close.
We understand that we will be informed of mandatory closure if there is a case of "community spread" in our Educational Service Unit area. Currently we do not have a case of the virus in our area. This is a fluid situation and we are in contact with state and local health departments, emergency management and the State Department of Education. We want you to know that we are trying to do the best for our students and our community.
In the meantime we will take several precautions to lessen the mitigation of the virus. Here are a few of the changes we will put into place:We will not be allowing our students to travel out of the district for any school activities. We will be postponing all internal activities like concerts or assemblies. We will not be allowing visitors into the building. We will not be allowing any outside activities to be held in our building such as youth sport practices. This will include weight room use by community members. We will be continuing to allow practices but will be not be attending any sporting events until further notice.I know that a commonly asked question is in regards to Prom and Commencement. We are unsure at this time but we will make every attempt to hold these activities but they may be delayed or announcements made closer to the time of Prom or Commencement as the picture becomes clearer.
We are finishing up our plans to address the continuation of our educational services and the nutritional needs of our students when we are asked to close the school buildings. As I said in our earlier communication, please begin to make some plans for your children now.
I have called a Special Session of Loup City Public Schools Board of Education for Thursday, March 19th at 7pm in the Loup City High School Commons to address issues related to possible school closure.
I appreciate your understanding and your communication. Please feel free to contact me by email at angela.simpson@lcpublic.org, by phone at 308-745-0120 ext 202, or you are welcome to set up a time to meet me in my office.
Respectfully,
Angela Simpson

Hello Loup City Elementary School Parents/Guardians,
I am writing you today to remind you that Parent Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Wednesday, September 25 and Thursday September 26.In an effort to honor everyone's time we are going to schedule Parent Teacher Conferences again this year. We are, however, changing the process.
Your teacher will be sending out an email to you with instructions on how you can sign up for a conference and select a date and time that works best for you. If none of the dates/times listed will work for you, please contact your teacher to discuss other options. Also, when signing up, if you have students in the K-2 and 3-6 buildings, this is a reminder to allow some travel time between the buildings for the times you choose. After your student's teacher sends you this information, you will be given a few days to select a date and time, if nothing is scheduled, the teacher will then contact you with a phone call or paper note sent home with your child with a time scheduled for you.
We hope this conference experience gives you a better understanding of your student’s educational progress and how we are doing what we can to provide your student with the best educational opportunities. Once your allotted conference time is finished, if you have further questions or comments please share this with your teacher and schedule another date and time to address those items. Thank You.
I am sending this information out in email form, and am also posting it to our website and other social media avenues. If you read this via mode other than email and have not shared an email address with the school and would like us to have one for communications such as this, please send that information to the school and it will be added.
Thank You!--
Roger Reikofski, Elementary Principal

Remember, fall MAP testing starts tomorrow for grades 7-12. Come ready to rock it!
P.S. Don't forget to charge those iPads!

Hello all, GO REBELS!! We are super excited for the upcoming school events. With that thought in mind and our first home football game tonight, we wanted to let you know we sent the following information home with each Kindergarten through Sixth grade student:
Attention Loup City Event attendees:
Loup City Public Schools is committed to making all events sponsored by the school as safe and enjoyable as possible. To that end, we would like to remind all spectators in attendance that before and during the event all spectators are expected to remain in the general areas of an event where people are permitted to watch the game. For example, at Loup City home football games this general area would include the bleachers, sidewalk area between bleachers and trees, concession stand area and restroom area. Any students found in areas other than this will be instructed to move immediately to the aforementioned spectator areas.
Thank you for your cooperation and support with this.

Rebel fans, please remember, tonight at the game your activity passes will need to be presented when entering the game. If not, gate admission will be charged. Thank you!

Due to wet field conditions, the football juice scrimmage will be held at the practice field North of the high school. Scrimmage time is still scheduled for 6:00pm.
